\ HOLLINS COLLEGE has received a set of new hymnals as a gift from the class of 1993. "New Hymnal for Colleges and Schools" will be dedicated Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the service in Du Pont Chapel with the Rev. Jan Fuller-Carruthers, chaplain, officiating. Several hymns from the new book will be sung by the college choir directed by James Leland.

\ AN INTRODUCTION TO ISLAM is the theme of a class scheduled Wednesday and Oct. 13 in the library of St. John's Episcopal Church, South Jefferson Street at Elm Avenue in downtown Roanoke. The Rev. Kirk Ballin, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke, will teach the class, which begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes video and discussion.
