Sarah Elizabeth Clark and Colston Snead Clarke were married Saturday,October 2, 1993 at St. John's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Thomas P. O'Dell and Dr. Walter R. Franke officiated. Thereception was held at Roanoke Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. James Howard Clark of Roanoke and the late Nancy Lips Clark. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John White Clarke of Salem and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cameron Wiley of Salem.

Emily Clark Dupree, of Free Union, was her sister's matron of honor.Bridesmaids were Blair Hawkins Martin of Roanoke, Kathryn Kistler Craft of Greensboro, N.C., Caitlin CarolineThomas of New York City, Ann Smeltzer Fulton of Hagerstown, Md., Virginia Travis Shackelford, Anne JohnstonDouthat and Anne Shannon Worrell, all of Charlottesville.

James Taylor Clarke, of Richmond, was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Wesley Taylor Polly of Big Stone Gap, Edward Bizzell Walker of Lexington, Glenn Alan Hardwick of Richmond,Richard Andrew Houser of Meadowview, Steven Lee Hopp of Emory, Bradley Clairborne Craig of Salem and DanielStephen Wike of Cloverdale.

Jennifer Mary Smyth of Arlington and Caleb Litteljohn Hall of Salem were the lay readers.

The bride is a graduate of North Cross School and the University of Virginia and is employed by Ferguson, Andrews &Associates. The groom is a graduate of Salem High School and Emory and Henry College and is employed by Dillard Paper Co.

After a wedding trip to Kiawah Island, S.C., the couple will live in Roanoke.
