Karen ElizabethAnderson and Dr. Andrew Howes were married Saturday, September 11, inPittsburgh, Pa. Judge Robert W. Kubit performed the ceremony. A reception was held on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University.

The best man was Derek Christopher Anderson, brother of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of S.K. and Ame Anderson of Blacksburg. She is a graduate of Blacksburg High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has just received her M.Sc. from Carnegie Mellon University.

The bridegroom is the son of David and Jean Howes of Gillingham, Kent, England. He received his Ph.D from the University of Lancaster, England. He is currently employed as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, England.

The couple will reside in Cambridge, England.
