Dana Michelle Vance and Sgt. Andrew L. Rodgers were married in a military
ceremony, Saturday, October 2, 1993, in Bonsack Baptist Church, with Dr.
Robert G. Moore, III officiating. The service was completed with the arch of
swords. The reception was held at Holiday Inn,Airport. The maid of honor was
MissBrigette Golden, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Miss Marcia
Rodgers, sister of the groom; Miss Crystal Duncan, Miss Tina Dickerson, and
Miss Elisse Saltzman, friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Kayla Lawson,
daughter of the groom. The best man was Mr. Michael Rodgers, brother of the
groom. The groomsmen were Mr. George Farmakis, Mr. Greg VanKeuren, Mr.
MichaelDelgrosso, and Mr. Eric Gearhart, friends of the groom. The
candlelighters were Mr. Greg VanKeuren and Mr. Eric Gearhart. The guestbook
was attended by Mrs.Margy Murray. The coordinator/consultant was Vaunda
Leftwich, and the director was Rebecca Walters. The bride's gown was white,
long and flowing with a portrait neckline and a cathedral length train. It was
accented with pearls, sequins and rhinestones. She carried a cascading bouquet
of white roses, wine roses, white stephanotis, baby's breath and pearls. The
maid of honor andbridesmaids wore tea length velvet dresses of a rich wine
color. The groom and groomsmen wore their Marine Corp dress blue uniforms. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill W. Vance of Salem. She is a
graduate of Glenvar High School and will graduate from Radford University in
December. The groom is the son of Mr. David L. Rodgers of Roanoke, and Mrs.
Maxine L. Rodgers of Reston. He is serving in the United States Marine Corps.
Thenewlyweds will live in Blacksburg, after their wedding trip to Nags Head,
North Carolina.
