MARVIN P. LONG, BUSINESS EXECUTIVE, PROFESSOR, DIES AT 75

Marvin P. Long, a retired professor and business executive, died of leukemia Saturday at a Salem hospital.

Long, 75, had been associate professor of business management at New River Community College in Dublin. After his retirement, he served as an adjunct professor until June 1992.

He had also been controller for Jefferson Mills Textiles and later served as plant manager with the Virginia Maid Hosiery Mill in Pulaski.

A graduate of Virginia Tech, he received his master's degree from Radford University. Long had worked for American Viscose Corp. in Roanoke before moving to Pulaski.

Long was a past president of the Pulaski Rotary Club and a member of the Pulaski Science Club.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Lee McGehee Long; a daughter, Carol Ann Long of Hendersonville, N.C.; and a brother, Ralph B. Long of Petersburg.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church in Pulaski with burial at 2 p.m. at Evergreen in Roanoke. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
