OBIT LEE, RAY FORD

LEE, Ray Ford, 78, of Salem, died Saturday, October 2, 1993. He was superintendent of the Sunday School at Central United Methodist Church, Salem. He served in the Army 36th Division during World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #284. He was retired from General Electric in Salem after 25 years, where he was a foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Annie Laurie Lee and a son, Ray Ford Lee Jr. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Richardson Lee; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky Lee and Lee Lineberry of Salem; four brothers, Franklin Lee of Norfolk, Jesse Lee of Deltona, Fla., William E. Lee Jr. of Lynchburg and Lyle Lee of Concord Depot; five sisters, Nancy Cecil of Roanoke, Norma Driscoll of Richmond, Lucille Johnson of Allison Park, Penn., Mildred Booth of Concord Depot and Mae Hodnett of Chesapeake; a grandson, Brian Doud of Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. A. Howell Franklin. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem Sunday.
