CASTING CONTEST TO 'WOO' KIDS

Pro-bass-fisherman Woo Daves will be the featured guest at a Rubbermaid Casting Kids program scheduled Oct. 23 at the Roanoke County Police Department headquarters.

Anglers ages 7 to 14 are invited to display their accuracy with a fishing rod in casting, pitching and flipping competition. The program is sponsored by the Police Department, D.A.R.E. and the Star City Bassmasters. There is no charge.

Winners have an opportunity to earn a college scholarship and compete in the finals at the BASS Masters Classic. Registration is 9 a.m. For more information, call Rick Moore, 561-8098.
