Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill.-based parent of Carter Machinery Co. of Salem, said Monday it has obtained a permanent injunction against a New York importer, Paris Accessories Inc., prohibiting it from importing and selling counterfeit caps with a Cat Diesel Power trademark.
Paris Accessories had imported the foreign-made ball caps for resale to chain stores and other retailers in the United States. Caterpillar filed the suit in U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, charging trademark infringement, unfair competition and counterfeiting. - Staff report \

\ Edwards Business Machines Inc. of Bethlehem, Pa., said Monday it has bought assets and inventories of Virginia Copiers, a Forest-based office-machines dealer with operations in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg and Richmond. Edwards will retain the Virginia Copiers name and staff and plans to add personnel.
