OBIT CARTER, CHARLIE VERNON

CARTER, Charlie Vernon, 82, of Bedford, Elks National Home, formerly of Roanoke, died Sunday, October 3, 1993. He was a former American Viscose employee and retired from the V.A. Medical Center. Mr. Carter was a United States Army Veteran, having served during World War II. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ronnie (Gail) Blanchard of Blue Ridge, Mrs. Ike (Mary Jane) Grisso of Salem, Mrs. Sam (Helen) St. Clair and Miss Margaret Carter, both of Roanoke; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Carter of Bedford; a sister, Elizabeth Manual of Alabama; a special friend, Agnes Walker of Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 1993, with the Rev. Rex F. Adkins officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel after 12 noon Monday.
