On Nov. 1, he succeeds retiring Chairman Harold Poling, taking the helm as Ford recovers from depressed sales in North American and Europe.
Trotman said his challenges include expanding sales into Asia and the Pacific, improving sales in North America and Europe, and making British luxury car maker Jaguar profitable.
"I'll be taking on an awesome job," he said.
