Lisa Letwich of Carroll County, David Manley of Wythe County, and Sarah Simpkins, Phyllis Leary and Suzanne Kirby of Pulaski County will be the seniors making the trip.
George Parker of Carroll had a conflict so Kirby, as first alternate, will get to go in his place.
The juniors are Setul Patel of Giles, Daronda Combs, Pulaski, and Kerrie Lee, Jesika Carter and Sarah Wilson, all from Wythe.
Governor's School faculty members Lauri Goater-Cox and Richard Fisher will go as chaperones.
The list was announced Tuesday to the school's board. Margaret Duncan, the school's director, also announced that the intern-mentorship program would be held again this year.
Duncan started the program last year, pairing students attending the half-day Governor's School program with research facilities, hospitals, medical offices and industries for specialized learning.
Forty teachers are attending weekend in-service physics workshops taught by Neel Beard, with the Hampden-Sydney College Physics Department, and Robert Carlson of the Governor's School.
Public schools in Roanoke are sending six teachers for the sessions, which started in August and will continue until Dec. 11.
Carroll and Smyth counties each have four participants. Two teachers each are coming from Bedford, Craig, Halifax, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Washington, Wise and Wythe counties, and two each from the cities of Galax and Salem.
