SIGN-UP IS OCT. 17 FOR TENNIS PROGRAMS

Registration for New River Valley Tennis Association tennis programs will be Oct. 17, 3 p.m. at the Virginia Tech tennis pavilion. Space is available for new participants.

The sixth annual meeting of the association will follow at 5 p.m.

The indoor season begins Oct. 17 and continues through the first week of May.

The association has rented the pavilion from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sundays; and beginners', intermediate and advanced sessions have been scheduled. Instructors will be on hand.

The fees are $150 for beginners, $225 for intermediate and advanced. There is a $15-per-family membership fee. In addition, Virginia Tech requires participants to be members of the Virginia Tech Tennis Center. Junior annual memberships are $40 per child. Family memberships are $100, or $75 if a family is affiliated with Virginia Tech.
