INTERNATIONAL KITE-FLY SUNDAY

The eighth annual "One Sky, One World" kite-fly will take place worldwide on Sunday. In the New River Valley, the kite-fly will be held 3-4 p.m. at the Hills Department Store parking lot, sponsored by Brownie Troop 620.

Since the festival began in 1986, an estimated 350,000 people have flown their kites on the second Sunday in October to promote world peace.

Anyone can bring a kite to watch or join in.
