OBIT HYPES, GEORGE ERVIN

HYPES, George Ervin, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Roanoke, passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, October 5, 1993. He was enroute from Virginia to his residence in Florida. He was a World War II veteranand served with the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Florence Elsie Mayhew Hypes; one stepson and wife, Lloyd Allen & Virginia Young of Roanoke; three brothers, Paul R. Hypes, Roanoke, Fred L. Hypes, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Marvin C. Hypes, Madison, Alabama; two stepgrandchildren, Sherry and Michael Young. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 1993, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel, with Dr. Robert G. Moore III officiating. Entombment at Sherwood Chapel Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Lotz Vinton Chapel.
