Hanging Rock teaching pro Chip Sullivan is 8-under-par through 32 holes of the rain-plagued National Club Pro Championship at the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Sullivan, who shot a 4-under 68 in Thursday's first round, was 4-under Friday before his round was halted by rain. He will complete his second round this morning before teeing off in round three.

Sullivan's current score has him in the top five on the scoreboard among 360 players. The low 40 finishers earn automatic exemptions into the field of next year's PGA Championship.

Virginia Tech coach Jay Hardwick fired a 5-under 68 to capture the $665 first-place prize in the Kazim Temple Golf Classic on Friday at Hanging Rock. Blue Hills' Billy King was second with a 72, earning $482.

Hardwick also led his team of Shannon Hardwick, Joe Thomas and Dave Baumgardner to a score of 127 to claim the best-two-ball net division.

The team of Mark Fry, Basil Fry, Greg Fry and Jack Gregory shot 134 to capture the best-two-ball gross division.
