RADFORD WOMEN NIP KENTUCKY 2-1 IN SOCCER

Melissa Gaitko scored twice as Radford (11-1) beat host Kentucky in a women's non-conference soccer game.

In Blacksburg, Shannon Mullen scored with 13 minutes remaining to give host Virginia Tech (6-5) a 2-1 non-conference women's soccer win over Davidson.

Ken Howe scored the lone goal for Ferrum as the Gardner-Webb men's soccer team defeated the visiting Panthers 5-1 in Boiling Springs, N.C. Ferrum dropped to 3-9.

A $1,000 prize to the Any Car winner highlights the racing card at Franklin County Speedway tonight. A stretch limousine is among the vehicles entered.

Racers in all divisions will be jockeying for positions in the points standings as only four weeks remain on the 32-race schedule.

The first race begins at 7 p.m. Gates open at noon.
