OBIT GILBERT, GENT
GILBERT, Gent, 63, of Bristol, Va., 4809 Lee Highway, died Thursday,
October 7, 1993, in Radford Community Hospital. A native of Russell County, he
had lived in Bristol the past 10 years. He was employed by Allied Security
working at Westinghouse. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a
U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances
Mae Gilbert, Bristol, Va.; one daughter, Cheryl Adams, Christiansburg; one
stepdaughter, Barbara Lester, Lebanon, Va.; four sisters, Vicki Vance,
Roanoke, Va., Virginia Powell, Bedford, Ohio, Betty Vineyard and Marie
Stinson, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; two brothers, Smith Gilbert and Emmett
Gilbert, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; two stepgrandchildren. Funeral services for
Gent Gilbert will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Russell County Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Baker officiating. Burial will follow in
Russell Memorial Cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will
receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Russell County Funeral Home in
Lebanon, Va. Russell County Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
