Ann Gardner and Joel RobertBranscom were married October 9, 1993, in Cave
Spring United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Logan officiating. The
reception was held on the Virginia Dare at Smith Mountain Lake. The matron
ofhonor was Sydney McGuffin Schilling, friend. The bridesmaids were Ursula
Thomas, Korisa Mullenix, Donna McLamb, and Sandy MacQuarrie, all friends. The
best man was Donald S.Caldwell, Roanoke City Commonwealth Attorney. The ushers
were James W. Gardner, brother of the bride; Mark E. Lovett, John Patrick
Anthony, and Craig Dye, all friends. The guestbook wasattended by Stephanie
Dreyer. Vaunda Leftwich was the wedding consultant/coordinator. The bride's
gown was white satin and organza. She carried acascading bouquet of red roses.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James P. Gardner of Roanoke. She is
a graduate of Cave Spring High School, WesternKentucky University, and Wake
Forest University School of Law. She isemployed by Assistant Commonwealth's
Attorney for the City of Roanoke. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William
J. Branscom of Fincastle. He is agraduate of Lord Botetourt High School,
College of William & Mary, andMarshall-Wythe School of Law. He isemployed by
Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Roanoke. The newlyweds will
live in Botetourt County, after the wedding trip to Jamaica.
