OBIT GROGAN, OTIS B.

GROGAN, Otis B. ("Shorty"), 83, of Roanoke County, died Sunday, October 10, 1993. Our beloved husband and father went home to be with the Lord early in the morning. Mr. Grogan was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Bringle and Ella May Grogan of Eden, N.C.; and his sister and brother-in-law, Blumie and Howard Flynn. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and was a retired service representative from Pitney-Bowes Inc. with 30 years service. Shorty is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy Atkins Grogan; his daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Beach (Nancy), Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. A. Ross Minton III (Janet), Christiansburg; his beloved grandchildren, Heather Jan Minton, Radford, Stuart Edward, Paige Meredith, Daniel Joseph, and Joel Christian Beach, all of Richmond; his brothers, Nomie Grogan, Eden, N.C., Carlis Grogan, Sanford, N.C., Coy Grogan, Greenville, Texas, Ira Grogan, Troy Grogan, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his sisters, Frances Johnson, Mesa, Ariz., Lizzora (Tootsie) Martin, Eden, N.C.; also many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Wednesday, October 13, 2 p.m. with the Rev. Troy B. Webb officiating. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to may make memorial contributions to Glad Tidings Church Building Fund, in his memory. The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.
