OBIT POINDEXTER, ERNESTINE DEFIBAUGH
POINDEXTER, Ernestine Defibaugh, 66, of Bedford, passed away Saturday,
October 9, 1993 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 12,
1927 in Marfrance, W. Va., a daughter of the late Alva J. Defibaugh and
Florice Orange Defibaugh. Her husband was the late Thomas Judson Poindexter.
She was a retired employee of Belding-Corticelli and was a member of the Mt.
Hermon Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Thomas Henry Franklin Jr.,
Salem; two grandsons, Thomas Henry Franklin III, Jerry Lynn Franklin, both of
Roanoke; a granddaughter, Christy Sue Franklin, Salem; a great-grandson,
Anthony Thomas Franklin, Roanoke; two sisters, Opal Hale, Roanoke; Lorain
McFall, Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 12, 1993
at 11 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, by the Rev. Kenneth B. Bryan and
Father Alfred T. Whitelock. Interment will follow in the Virginia Memorial
Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike
Funeral Home.
