MEETINGS SET FOR CULTURAL PLAN IN ROANOKE

Preliminary recommendations for Roanoke's cultural plan will be discussed at meetings Wednesday and Thursday at the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge at 20 E. Church Ave. in Roanoke.

The meetings are open to the public. They have been organized by the steering committee for ``Blueprint 2000: A Cultural Plan for the Roanoke Region of Western Virginia.'' The meetings will be Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and Thursday at 2 p.m.

The plan is being coordinated by the Arts Council, an umbrella organization of more than 75 cultural groups in the region. The final blueprint will be completed by November.

Preliminary recommendations were based on two years of research by more than 75 people from the community. Subjects of study include information and communication, education, resources, pluralism and planning and facilities.

For copies of the draft, call 342-5790.
