OBIT KELLISON, LEWIS AVERILL SR.

KELLISON, Lewis Averill Sr., 69, of Hardy, died at his home at Smith Mountain Lake, October 10, 1993. A veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Business and the Medical College of Virginia, School of Hospital Administration. He was retired from the Jefferson Surgical Clinic after 32 years. He was clinic administrator. He was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his loving wife, Alice B. Kellison; sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis Jr. and Debbie Kellison, Roanoke, Matthew and Melissa Kellison of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; daughter and son-in-law, Laura K. and Bruce Freeman of Norfolk; grandchildren, Lewis III, Kari and Kathryn Kellison of Roanoke; brothers, John R. Kellison, Federal Way, Wash., J. Bruce Kellison, Washington, D.C.; sister, Mary Louise Beard of Triangle. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 7 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roland Bailey officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 1993, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
