OBIT MUNCY, NANNIE ROSE

MUNCY, Nannie Rose, 89, of Bland, passed away Monday, October 11, 1993, at the Wythe County Community Hospital after a long illness at home. She was the last surviving child of the late Charles Perry and Ella Mustard Muncy, formerly of Bland. She was a retired school teacher in the Virginia educational system who taught many years in Bland, Giles, and Bath counties. She was a member of the Bland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Sarah Elizabeth Muncy, Anna Josephine Muncy, Kathleen Muncy Edwards, Eloise Muncy Kegley, M.M. Minor Muncy, Graton Mustard Muncy, Charles Perry Muncy Jr., Andrew N. Muncy Sr., James Bascom Muncy Sr. She is survived by 26 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Bland Cemetery with the Rev. Mrs. June Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the Newberry Funeral Home in Bland, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family suggests that those who prefer, may make memorials to the Bland County Rescue Squad for their deeply appreciated assistance over the past few years. Newberry Funeral Home in Bland is in charge of the arrangements.
