CHRISTIANSBURG PLANS TRIPS TO RACES

The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring trips to three NASCAR Winston Cup races in early 1994.

Trips are planned for the Goodwrench 500 on Feb. 27 in Rockingham, N.C., the TranSouth Financial 400 on March 27 in Darlington, S.C., and the First Union 400 on April 17 in North Wilkesboro, N.C.

Registration begins Oct. 18 and closes Dec. 8 for the first two races. The cost, which includes ticket and transportation, is $80 for the Goodwrench 500 and $85 for the TranSouth 400. Each trip must have at least eight persons sign up and is limited to 20 people.

The sign-up period for the First Union 400 runs Jan. 10 to March 11. The cost is $45. That trip must have at least 12 people and has a maximum of 27.

Participants must be 21 or over to buy tickets, unless accompanied by a paying adult.
