ZEPHYR HOMES PART OF NATIONWIDE TOUR

Three homes in the Zephyr Community will participate in a national open house Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., as part of an effort to demystify the technologies for harvesting electricity from the sun, wind and water.

The Avery-Grubel, Franko and Giessler homes will be among more than 100 nationwide taking part in the National Tour of Independent Homes.

The tour is coordinated by a coalition of businesses and groups dedicated to conservation and energy independence through the use of photovoltaic solar panels, small-scale wind generators and miniature hydro-electric systems.
