OBIT CROWE, THOMAS EARLY

CROWE, Thomas Early, 90, of Salem, died Monday, October 11, 1993. He was born in Smythe County. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ and a veteran of World War I. He was preceded in death by three sons, Charlie Crowe, Bill Crowe, and Roy M. Crowe, Sr.; one grandson, Thomas Crowe. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Crowe; five sons and daughters-in-law, George T. Crowe, Hollins, Elmer V. Crowe, Maryland, Claude and Mary Crowe, Salem, Kermit and Sue Crowe, Roanoke and Clifford and Sherry Crowe, Salem; two daughters and son-in-law, Laura S. and Les Jones, Moneta, Margie G. Gray, Kokomo, Ind.; one daughter-in-law, Gwen M. Crowe, Salem; three sisters, Henrietta Blevins, Ethel Mae Kebler and Ina Pittman, all of Greenville, Tenn.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 1993 at the John M. Oakey Funeral Home, Salem by Pastor Floyd Bailey. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the John M. Oakey Funeral Home Tuesday, October 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Lewis Fire and Rescue Department or the Bent Mountain Fire and Rescue Department.
