A three-mile walk for dogs and their owners to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held Saturdayat Wasena Park.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. Participants will raise funds by collecting donations from sponsors.
The Roanoke City Professional Firefighters, K-92 radio, the James River Kennel Club, and the Dog Owners Training Club of Lynchburg and Citgo Petroleum are sponsoring the 1993 K-9 Walk for Jerry's Kids and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Walk will defray cost of van for TAP programs
A "Walk For Youth," sponsored by the Alleghany Dunbar Lodge #109 as its annual fund-raiser for Total Action Against Poverty, will be held Oct. 30.
The sign-in time for the seven-mile walk is 7 a.m. at William Fleming High. The walk begins at 8 a.m.
Participants are asked to seek pledges to raise money for a van to carry low-income and at-risk students to college campuses and other places to encourage them to further their education. The van also will be used to take the youths to summer jobs and to remedial tutoring.
TAP programs using the van will be Project Discovery, Project Pride and Project Success, Summer Youth Employment. Walk forms can be obtained at many Roanoke Valley businesses or by calling J.C. Taylor at 562-2631 or Lew Thompson at 362-9471.
