OBIT HARRIS, MICHAEL EUGENE

HARRIS, Michael Eugene, 47, of Salem, died Monday, October 11, 1993, in Riviera, Texas, as a result of a tractor trailer accident. He was born in Botetourt County and was employed as a truck driver with Blizzard Trucking out of Mt. Sydney, Va. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene H. and Lionel Ellis, Roanoke; a nephew, Brian L. Ellis, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 11 a.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son in Salem, by the Rev. R. Stuart Carlton. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
