OBIT DAVIS, CLARA SPENCER
DAVIS, Clara Spencer, 82, of Rt. 2, Max Meadows, Va., the Patterson
Community, died Tuesday, October 12, 1993, in the Smyth County Community
Hospital. She was born in Wythe County, the daughter of the late William Bert
and Dora Elizabeth Archer Spencer. She was a very devoted member of the Poplar
Camp Church of God of Prophecy since 1932. She is survived by her husband,
Harold Burl Davis; one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Jim Coleman of
Dublin, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Jewell Davis of
Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Mae Davis of Rt. 2, Max Meadows; one brother,
Early Spencer of Rt. 2, Max Meadows; four grandchildren, Randell Stilwell,
Larry Davis, Russell Davis, Cheryl Ashworth. Funeral services will be held
Friday, October 15, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Poplar Camp Church of God of
Prophecy with the Rev. Gary Vernon and the Rev. Larry Barnes officiating.
Interment will follow in the family cemetery. The body will be taken to the
Poplar Camp Church of God of Prophecy where the family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, Va., is in
charge of arrangements.
