THE CITY OF ROANOKE REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY has awarded six $2,000 scholarships and a $300 scholarship for the 1993-94 school year.

Recipients of the $2,000 scholarships are: Makia Pierson, a William Fleming High School graduate who is attending Virginia Western Community College; Lam Tran, a Patrick Henry High School graduate who also is attending Virginia Western; Amina Al Hindi, who is attending Virginia Western but plans to transfer to Radford University; to Erika Smith, a Patrick Henry graduate who is attending East Tenneessee State; Kenneth Burns, a Patrick Henry graduate who is attending Allegheny College; and Felicia White, who is attending Virginia Western and planning to transfer to Radford.

The housing authority, in conjunction with the Roanoke Branch of the American Association of University Women awarded the $300 scholarship to Brenda Dillon who is attending Virginia Western.
