OBIT AUSTIN, JAMES HENRY

AUSTIN, James Henry, 65, of Rt. 1, Ferrum, died Wednesday, October 13, 1993 at the local hospital. He was a son of the late Samuel and Lera Austin and was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank E. Austin, Lewis E. Austin, and C. Leonard Austin. Surviving are his wife, Nellie Gray Austin, of the home; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Mary and Dale Hodges, Elsie and Johnny Spencer, Donna Austin, Wendy and Ricky Hall, Rita and Cody Jamison; one son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Denna Austin, all of Ferrum; seven grandchildren, Robby Whitlow, Kenneth Hodges, June Reed, Dwayne Austin, Tabatha Jamison, Dawn Austin, D. J. Shively, all of Ferrum; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice and Nelson Austin, Rocky Mount, Lillie M. and Roger Jones, Ferrum, Adelle and Ronnie Scott, Rocky Mount, Ruby Jean and Ray Nichols, Ferrum; three brothers and five sisters-in-law, Buren and Ruth Austin, Rocky Mount, Melvin and Virginia Austin, Roanoke, Albert and Linda Austin, Ferrum, Katherine H. Austin, and Vanice A. Austin; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, in Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. J. Harold Draper and Rev. Billy Shively officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount.
