BUTLER-ANGELL

Mary Pat Angell and Brian Keith Butler were united in marriage onOctober 16, at 6:00 P.M. in BelmontChristian Church, with the Reverend John E. Wallace officiating at the double ring ceremony. A reception was held at St. Elias Catholic Church.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spencer Angell, attended Radford University. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steele Butler, was graduated from Virginia Tech. Both are graduates of William Byrd High School.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Paula Yeatts Woodall of Danville, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor.Bridesmaids were Amy Marie Yeatts of Uniontown, Pa., and Michelle LeighTolbert of Long Island, N.C., cousins of the bride; Tina Stewart Butler of SanAntonio, Texas, sister-in-law of the groom; and Wendi Denise Brooks, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were the bride's cousins, Christy Dawn Betterton of Gretna and Belinda Leigh Feazell ofCalloway. Honorary attendant was Mary Sommers Rosenberger of Gainsville, friend of the bride. Flower girl wasTamara Michelle Allgood of Gretna,cousin of the bride. Ring bearer wasRobert Shawn Butler, godson of the groom.

Robert Steele Butler, Sr. was his son's best man. Groomsmen were the groom's brothers, Robert Steele Butler, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas, and James Donald Butler; Anthony Neil Smith and James Timothy Robbins, friends of the groom. Junior groomsmen and acolytes were the groom's nephews, Christopher Patrick Butler and Robert Shawn Butler of San Antonio, Texas.

The bride's gown of white sparkleorganza over satin featured handbeaded alencon lace, with a modified v-neckline, fitted bodice with long sleeves and full shoulder puffs. The v-back was accented by a double beaded bow and the full skirt ended in a scalloped chapel train. Her headpiece, a wreath design of alencon lace, seed pearls, and sequins featured a medium pouf which flowed into two tiers of fingertip illusion. Within her cascading bouquet of white roses, gardenias,orchids, baby's breath and ivy, she carried an heirloom hankerchief handmade by her great-grandmother.

A program of music was presented by Jeryl Powell, organist; vocalist, Crystal LaBrie and Michelle Tolbert; and Earl Henritze, violinist.

The bride and groom are employed by Blue Cross/Blue Shield and will reside in Roanoke after a wedding trip to Florida.
