12-YEAR-OLD DIES FROM HORSE KICK

Funeral services were held Sunday for a 12-year-old Wythe County boy killed when he was kicked in the chest by a horse.

The victim was Kenneth Jackson "Jack" Cline, who sustained the injury near his home Friday. He lived in the Muskrat Section of the county.

He was in the seventh grade at Scott Memorial Elementary School in Wytheville, where he was active in such sports as basketball and soccer. He had worked as a volunteer at a summer camp for disabled children.

The family has suggested that memorials be made to the Leg Up Therapeutic Riding Program, P.O. Box 1257, Abingdon, Va. 24210.
