OBIT BROWN, RUBY CLARK
BROWN, Ruby Clark, 61, wife of prominent Pulaski County dairy farmer, Frank
W. Brown of Rt. 1, Robinson Tract Road (Buena Vista Farms), Pulaski, died
Saturday night, October 16, 1993 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was
born in Bassett, Va. on January 29, 1932 and was the daughter of the late
George Arnold Clark and Bessie Mize Clark Ross. She was a member of the Wesley
Memorial United Methodist Church, Pulaski, where she served in various offices
in the church, and was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as
treasurer for several years. She was a volunteer 4-H leader, member of the
Robinson Tract Homemakers Club, served on the F.H.A.C. committee for Southern
States Corporation, member of the Robinson Tract Community Club and helped
with the New River Valley Fair Beauty Pageant. She was preceded in death by
three brothers, Coolidge, Thurman and Larry Clark. She is survived by her
husband, Frank W. Brown, Pulaski; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and
Karen Buckland Brown, Pulaski; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Skip
Stevens, Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Berry, Ridgeway and Mrs. Charlie
(Charlene) Joyce, Bassett; one brother, Phillip (Bill) Clark, Martinsville;
three grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Josh Brown and Anna Stevens, all of
Pulaski. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Baxter and the Rev. Lonnie Fields
officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
Visitation will be Monday evening at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family
will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes
memorials to be made to the Wesley Memorial U.M.C., Rt. 2, Box 40A, Dublin,
Va., 24084, or the New River Valley Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 10896, Blacksburg,
