RADFORD WOMEN BLANK CAMPBELL IN SOCCER

Sue Williams had a goal and an assist as Radford clinched at least second place in the Big South Conference with a 4-0 victory over visiting Campbell.

Radford (13-1-2 overall, 6-1 Big South) trails UNC Greensboro (5-0), the only team to beat the Highlanders.

In Chuckey, Tenn., Ferrum finished seventh at the Carson-Newman Intercollegiate golf tournament.

Tennessee Tech won the title with a 599 total on the par-72 Graysburg Hills course. The Panthers finished at 619.

In the individual competition, Wade Bryant of Cumberland (Ky.) earned medalist honors with a 144 total. The Ferrum scorers were Matt Jordan (151), former Cave Spring standout Stuart Smith (155), former Glenvar star Aaron Johnson (156), R.J. Weaver (166) and Jay Browning (167).

In Lynchburg, Richard Booth scored three goals and Josh MacDermod had three goals and three assists as Roanoke Valley Christian blanked Timberlake Christian 9-0 in boys' soccer.
