OBIT LAWSON, MYRTLE SURRATT
LAWSON, Myrtle Surratt, 93, of 318 E. Westview Street, Narrows, died
Monday, October 18, 1993, at her residence. She was born in Wythe County on
December 19, 1899, and was the daughter of the late William Ulysses and Mary
Fleming Surratt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Lawson; a
son, William Lawson; a daughter, Alma Vogt. She was a member of the
Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows, were she served as Sunday
school teacher and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church. She is
survived by three daughters, Leona B. Vogt, Gertrude B. Blaker, both of
Narrows, Madeline Porterfield, Rich Creek; a brother, James H. Surratt, Texas;
nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 2 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows, with Rev. Kimball
Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows. The
family will meet their friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to
9 p.m.
