NAVY AIRMAN MICHAEL H. NEVERGOLD, son of JoAnn Overstreet of 6139 Darby Road, recently returned from a six-month Mediterranean and Red Sea deployment aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, based in Norfolk. He is a 1989 graduate of William Byrd High School.

\ NAVY PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS LOUIS A. JOHNSON, a 1978 graduate of Patrick Henry High School, recently returned from a six-month Mediterranean and Red Sea deployment aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, based in Norfolk.

\ LT. CHRISTOPHER E. BOLT, son of Jack E. Bolt of Roanoke, received the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service while serving with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 120 in Norfolk, where he is currently assigned.

Bolt is a 1987 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

\ NAVY PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS JEFFREY L. DUNCAN, son of Wanda E. Duncan of 2327 Shull Road N.E. and Donald L. Duncan of 5314 Palm Valley Road, recently returned from a six-month Mediterranean Sea deployment aboard the USS Saipan. Duncan is a 1989 graduate of William Fleming High School.

\ NAVY AIRMAN CHRISTIAN E. BURNETT, son of Keith C. and Lou A. Burnett of 85 Summitt Way, recently returned from a six-month Mediterranean and Red Sea deployment aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

\ NAVY PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS ROGER W. COOK, son of Stella M. Duncan of 1702 Rutrough Road S.E., recently participated in a decommissioning ceremony aboard the USS Forrestal. He is a 1989 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

\ SEAMAN MICHAEL WIREMAN, son of Alonzo and Gerda Wireman of 5224 Setter Road, recently graduated from Coast Guard Recruit Training Center. He is a 1987 graduate of William Byrd High School.

\ ARMY SPEC. ISRAEL S. STEVENS, son of Danny W. and Patricia J. Stevens of Vinton, has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal.

\ MICHAEL L. BOZEMAN, an Army Reserve colonel, has been appointed assistant division commander of the 80th Training Division. Bozeman, a coach at Virginia Military Institute, formerly commanded the Division's 2nd Brigade in Salem.

Boseman, who has 26 years of military service, entered the Army Reserve in 1970 and has been assigned to the 80th Division since 1986. He is a former chief of the Combat Arms Division for the 80th Maneuver Training Command in Richmond and a former platoon leader with the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry in Vietnam. He also commanded the 4th Infantry's Division 3rd Brigade Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol and was an instructor at the Mountain Ranger Camp, Dahlonega, Ga.
