OBIT AKERS, WILLIAM

AKERS, William, (Bill), 72, of Troutville, died Saturday, October 23, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Mary Akers; one daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Roger Nipper, of Blue Ridge; one brother, Eugene S. Akers, of Roanoke; two sisters, Mary Bryant of Cloverdale, Florence Hogan of Blue Ridge; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann and husband, Chris Estep, of Kinston, N.C., David Nipper, of Blue Ridge. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, 1993, at the Rader Troutville Chapel, with the Rev. Donald W. Eade and the Rev. Steve VanHouten officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
