OBIT BRIZENDINE, IRA J.

BRIZENDINE, Ira J. 72, of Roanoke, died Thursday, October 21, 1993, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. He was a retired employee of the V.A. Medical Center and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Virginia T. Brizendine; son, Ronald L. Brizendine, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia B. and Timothy P. Nagel, Roanoke; grandson, Eric R. Nagel; brother, Ray A. Brizendine, Vinton; sisters, Christine Brizendine, Martinsville, Hazel C. Campbell, Dublin, Ga., Martha J. Nowlin, Salem; a number of nieces and nephews, including Alma and Phillip Newcomb, Ridgeway. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, October 25, 1993, at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. Claude M. Dykes and the Rev. Carter L. Sloan. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel.
