OBIT ELKINS, HAZEL STARKEY

ELKINS, Hazel Starkey, 74, of Roanoke, died Friday, October 22, 1993 at the home of her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer T. Elkins, a daughter, Linda Elkins Ferguson, and a son, Bobby Elkins. She was a long time member of Belmont Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Buddy Ferguson, Roanoke, Mary and Wayland Wheeler, Franklin County; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Peggy Elkins, Donald Elkins, Thomas Elkins, all of Roanoke; four sisters, Bernita McCormick, Wirtz, Hazeltine Thompson and Dorothy Brown, both of Roanoke, Irene Lovell, Bridgeton, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, 1993, with the Rev. Albin P. Crutchfield, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
