OBIT THOMPSON, CHARLES HOMER

THOMPSON, Charles Homer, 80, of Roanoke, passed away, Friday, October 22, 1993. He was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson retired from the Federal Government, Washington D.C. with 31 years of service in 1973. He was a member of Fincastle Chapter; Sons of the American Revolution; a life member of Naval Lodge #4, Washington, D.C.; for many years a member of Melrose Lodge #139, Roanoke, Va.; Webber High Twelve Lodge # 282; The Scottish Rite of Free Masonry; the Murray Royal Arch Chapter #22 and Kazim Temple Shrine. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Lorena Adams Thompson; two sisters, Elsie M. Reid of Vinton, Lyndell Wilson, Catlettsburg, Ky.; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 3 p.m. Monday, October 25, 1993, with the Rev. Dr. Darryl Crim officiating. Burial with masonic rites will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
