OBIT ARRINGTON, DAVID RUSSELL

ARRINGTON, David Russell, 71, of 132 Center St., Narrows, passed away Friday, October 22, 1993. Born in Anstead, W.Va., on February 21, 1922, he was a son of the late Walter Howard and Harriett Russell Arrington. Mr. Arrington was retired from the Hoechst-Celanese Fibers Company at Narrows with 45 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Narrows, a member of the GiCoVa Wildlife Association and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Arrington Conley and one brother, Clarence Arrington. Surviving are his wife, Lois Mottesheard Arrington; one son, David Wayne Arrington of Narrows; one grandson, Jerry Russell Conley of Pearisburg. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, October 24, 1993, at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, with the Rev. Ralph M. Kidd officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Saturday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the New River Valley Hospice, 1806 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060 or to the First United Methodist Church, Narrows, Va. 24124.
