OBIT EGGLESTON, KATIE GILBERT

EGGLESTON, Katie Gilbert, 101, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, October 21, 1993. She was born in Amherst County on December 6, 1891, the daughter of the late John Henson and Lucy Humphries Henson. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Silas Gilbert and Crawford Eggleston; one son, Otto Gilbert and one stepson, Glenn Eggleston. She was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Wiseman and Audrey Johnson, both of Buena Vista; a sister, Mrs. Earl (Flora) Rowsey, Buena Vista; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 1993, at Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Shumaker officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Lomax Funeral Home.
