DUKE-SMITH

Jodi Faith Smith and Dwayne Allen Duke were married October 23, 1993, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Church of God with the Rev. Jim Milner officiating. A reception was held at Friendship Manor.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Smith of Blue Ridge, Va. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Duke also of Blue Ridge.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Alicia Miller of Roanoke, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Angela Smith of Salem was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Ayers of Troutville and Angela Duke of Blue Ridge, sisters of the groom; Cheryl Tablett of Blacksburg, Kelly Stanley of Blue Ridge, Bobbi Jo Hatfield of Morgantown, W. Va., all friends of the bride, and Kelly Bishop of Baileysville, W. Va., cousin of the bride. Flower girls were Danielle and Kayla Duke of Vinton, nieces of the groom. Ring bearer was John Harper of Martinsville, cousin of the bride.

Curtis Duke was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Tony Duke of Vinton, brother of groom, Alan Powers of Daleville, Mickey Kurz, Jerry Ayers, and Robert Ayers, all of Troutville, Tom Zion of Salem, all friends of the groom, and Brad Lane of Welch, W. Va., nephew of bride.

Kathy Jansen of Roanoke was the featured vocalist. Sound technician was Kenny Mowbray also of Roanoke. The wedding was directed by Debbie Midgette of Newport News. Guestbook and program attendants were Deanna Duke of Vinton and Lori Caldwell of Roanoke.

The bride is a 1989 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and a 1992 graduate of Virginia Western Community College where she received her Associate's degree in Science. She is currently working on her Bachelor's degree in nursing from Radford University. Dwayne is a 1983 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and is employed with Carolina Roanoke Cement Company.

Following a brief honeymoon, the couple will reside in Cloverdale.
