HABITAT HOME DEDICATED

The New River Valley Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 11th home Sunday afternoon at 510 Bellvue Ave. in Pulaski. It is the fourth home to be built by the organization in the town.

Construction was carried out in partnership with employees from the Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. plant in Dublin. It is the first corporate sponsorship for a Habitat project in the New River Valley. Students from the Habitat Campus Chapter at Virginia Tech also worked on the home.

``We are fortunate to have such caring and community-minded people as the employees of Volvo GM Heavy Truck and all the other volunteers,'' said Fred Dodson, executive director of the New River Valley Habitat affiliate. ``Without the support of our volunteers and donors, we could not complete a single home.''
