BARTER FAIRE

It'll be 10 years of trading when this year's Barter Faire kicks off Saturday at the Pine Tavern on U.S. 221 north of Floyd.

The two-day annual event, sponsored by the Community Educational Resource Cooperative, is in its 10th year, and its premise is in its name: bring things and trade them for other things. Some things will be for sale, too.

There'll be music from acoustic, a capella and Irish bands, costume making for kids, apple cider pressing, food and crafts.

Fees for traders are $15 for both Saturday and Sunday, or $10 a day. Proceeds go to the Blue Mountain School and the CERC Museletter, a monthly journal.

Traders will start setting up around 7:30-8 a.m., and the event will run from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. or possibly longer. For more information, call 745-2708.
