STARGAZING CLASS SCHEDULED NOV. 5

You don't need a high-powered telescope to be an amateur astronomer. Your binoculars will do just fine. The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department will offer a class on how to locate and observe star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and planets using just binoculars and star charts.

The class will be held Nov. 5, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Blacksburg Golf Course parking lot.

Advance registration is required, and there's a $7 fee.
