CLEMSON'S ELLIS TO DISCIPLINE PLAYERS

Clemson basketball coach Cliff Ellis says he will take disciplinary measures against three players - including center Sharone Wright - involved in a weekend altercation, but he did not say what the actions would be.

Wright, starting forward Devin Gray and backup guard Lew Ritchie were arrested Saturday in connection with a fight outside the National Guard Armory in Clemson. They were released on bail and have a trial date of Nov. 10.

Bobby Allison, already staggered by the death of his son Davey in a July helicopter crash, suffered a blow to his racing team when it was announced that Jimmy Spencer was leaving. Carolyn Carrier, a spokeswoman for the Charlotte, N.C.-based team, said Spencer had notified Allison that he would depart at the end of the racing season to join Junior Johnson's team.
