`SMART HIGHWAY' PRESENTATION NOV. 8

A presentation and panel discussion on the "smart highway" will be held Nov. 8, 7:30-9:30 p.m., in Town Council chambers. This program is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County.

Keynote speaker will be Dan Brugh, resident engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation's Salem District. Panelists are:

Nadine J. Newcomb, moderator, president of the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County.

Dan Fleming, professor emeritus, social studies education, Virginia Tech.

Roger Hedgepeth, mayor of Blacksburg.

Tony Hobeika, director of Virginia Tech's Center for Transportation.

Don Schumacher, lawyer, formerly with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Brian Wishneff, director for economic development, Roanoke.

This panel discussion also will be televised live on Access Blacksburg, channel 24.
