Deedra Shrader, daughter of Lyn and Annette Shrader, won first place in the contest held this past May. The artwork by Shrader, a 12-year-old student at Glen Cove Elementary, will appear on T-shirts that will be sold during First Night Roanoke on on New Year's Eve.
Other winners were: Whitney Cole, 12, daughter of Sandi and Myron Cole, Cave Spring Junior High, second place; Rosalinda Motley, 7, daughter of Rosalie and Juan Motley, Highland Park Learning Center, third place; Laramie Taylor, 10, daughter kid of Pat and Leilani Taylor, a former student at Raleigh Court Elementary, fourth place.
The second-, third- and fourth-place artwork will be on display during First Night Roanoke. A contest for artwork to be reproduced on T-shirts for Festival in the Park 1994 will also take place during First Night.
